FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5340-1M sets the character proportions U.S. airports must paint directly onto taxiway and apron pavement — holding position hold-short markings, taxiway/runway designation markings, and the surface-painted location markings that duplicate elevated signage for low-visibility operations. This stencil reproduces that standard at 9 ft character height (108 inches), so what you paint onto the pavement is what an inspector expects to see under 14 CFR Part 139.311(d) — no freehand guessing on letterform or stroke width.
Available in Maxi (1/10″ plastic, lightweight and easy to store) or Aluminum (.080″, built for repeated heavy use) construction — reusable, durable, and easy to wipe clean between applications.
